This was perhaps the start of the most unique wedding sermon I’ve ever heard. At Olivia and Evan’s beautiful Frankenmuth wedding, they stood in Olivia’s home church. It was only a matter of minutes before Oreos came onto the scene. When Olivia and Evan were standing at the altar, Pastor Fenske asked them if they enjoyed any sweet treats and then informed them that Oreo would be a great answer! He then proceeded to explain to the congregation and to Olivia and Evan that marriage is just like an Oreo because it requires three parts to be successful. These three parts of course include the bride and the groom, but the most important part is the filling-Jesus.
Olivia and Evan’s wedding day was nothing short of stunning in every way. Olivia had every little detail so well planned and organized. See, Olivia and I go way back because we grew up on the same block. There were many summers spent running around the neighborhood with not only her, but her whole family. Olivia has the kindest heart and is always looking for ways to put others first. Olivia has been one of the biggest supporters of my business and even reached out to me before they were engaged! I was so incredibly excited and then waited in anticipation, just like Olivia did, for the big proposal!
Last August, Olivia wanted to do a couple’s session for fun and bring along their super cute dog, Sherzer. The day before I got a phone call from Evan saying he wanted to use this as an opportunity to propose! Ah! Cue all the girly screams and happy dancing! I’ve seriously never been so excited to go to a session. It was all I could do to not spill the beans! Evan proposed at the end of the session and it was truly the cutest thing! You can check out more of their sweet proposal story here!
Olivia is such a sweetheart and she carefully and thoughtfully prepared all the little details for their wedding. Her wedding was not only a photographer’s dream, but a Disney lover’s dream as well! See, Olivia’s family and my family have this shared obsession with Disney, which is why we have been fast friends! We even ended up on flights to Disney where we sat next to each other, completely by coincidence! There were so many Mickey Mouse ears everywhere with their navy, blush, and rose gold details, that I could have spent a whole day just photographing them! Seriously, everywhere we looked was another adorable detail!
Throughout their entire day, God’s love was shown to Olivia and Evan. These two are forever demonstrating God’s love to each other, their families and their friends. They were both so thoughtful to include so many special people in their day to serve various roles and Olivia and Evan were shown so much love in return. It was in the little moments like her brother Erich helping her put on her shoes (because ladies, we all know putting on shoes in a fancy dress is quite near impossible!). Her sister showed her so much love with her incredibly moving toast that echoed their sermon and made the whole room tear up. Their were many personal touches throughout the day that were from the love of other’s using their skills and talents to make their day special. Perhaps, one of the largest displays of love was when it was time for the daddy daughter dance where Olivia’s father put on an impressive dance show! Everyone was in shock and it was so sweet to see a dad so willing to do something so fun and silly for his daughter!
Olivia and Evan, thank you ever so much for including me in not only your wedding day, but this whole year leading up to your wedding! It was truly magical, especially because all of the Disney magic! I am so excited for you both as you venture into the journey of marriage! You are both so well equipped with so many examples of God’s unconditional love and I know you will live together as husband and wife with so much joy and happiness! I can’t wait to see you both in a few short days for a really fun surprise 🙂 You two are such a blessing to all around you and I’m so lucky to have you both in my life! I can’t wait for all of God’s future plans for your lives!
