Goodness, talk about a crazy couple of months! So right after we found out we matched to Orlando, a week later we were in the car driving down to look for places to live.  On our way back to Michigan, we made a quick trip over to Washington DC. Mainly because I had the incredible opportunity to work with Megan Kelsey! She was the absolute sweetest and I learned so much at our mentoring session! I still have tons of work to do with the ideas she gave me and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to hear all the ins and outs of how she approaches her business 🙂 Thank you Megan for such an amazing time! She also took some head shots of us and I’m totally in love! A few will be included below and we are still trying to narrow down which ones we want to have framed in our new home!

After the mentoring session we were able to meet up with Jof for dinner from Joffoto and catch up! It was truly a trip full of photography talk so I was totally in my element and enjoying every last minute! All of this fun was all within the first day so naturally we were wiped, but super excited for our next day to tour the blossoms.

Then, we went blossom exploring the next day. We didn’t have high hopes for the blossoms looking that great because it was predicted that the week prior was peak week, but it turned out that they really were quite a bit better when we were there! This has been a bucket list item for me, and then once we got into photography, it really became a must do item!

Apparently, everyone else thought the exact same thing! I always thought it was funny the way DC photographers said they were essentially going to war to capture photos for their clients during blossom season, and now I fully understand why. It was absolutely crazy with people; however, it was totally worth it to see these gorgeous blossoms! God’s creation never ceases to amaze me and perhaps the recent realization that we won’t see blossom trees once we are in Florida, made me appreciate them even more. Now, don’t get me wrong though, I’m super excited that there is never going to be a season where it just looks dead outside 🙂 That will be such an upgrade!
