It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day for both of Johanna and Nick’s weddings! Two weddings?! What? Yes, two celebrations of this couple’s love! Partially because one just wouldn’t be enough to capture the joy that radiates when these two are in the room, but also because these two have incredible families that span across the entire country.
Nick grew up in Saginaw, Michigan while Johanna grew up in Irvine, California. You may wonder how these two would have met being so far apart and the answer is quite simply, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. It is not at all uncommon for us Lutherans to find one another across the entire country and be able to name at least three other people we can share in common with a stranger we just met. Johanna ended up taking a call to serve as the music director at Holy Cross where Nick’s family attends church, and the rest was God’s beautiful plan.
When it came time to plan a wedding, they knew it would be challenging to ask everyone they loved to fly all the way to California for their wedding so they solved that dilemma with a blessing ceremony in Saginaw! Johanna was inspired by her parents who did a similar thing when they were married.
Both days were absolutely stunning and both days were incredibly hot, but they looked flawless and most importantly, joyfully in love on both days.
Congratulations Johanna and Nick! We are so happy you found each other and were so honored to be able to be there for your blessing ceremony! You two are truly a blessing to so many. Nick, my family could never thank you enough for looking after my grandma over the years and helping her shovel her snow!
