Oh where to begin with this wedding! How about that the bride and groom are two of our dearest friends, or that they had the perfect weather we could imagine for March in Michigan, or that her dress is the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen! Bekah is so dear to our hearts and when she called me to ask us to be her wedding photographers, there were girl shrieks and tons of jumping for joy! Serving as the photographer for your best friend is such a different ball game because while I always get emotionally attached to my brides and their love story, it was so difficult to not cry my eyes out the whole time! These two are so full of laughs and adventure (we even made an a 22 hour straight drive with these two to Cocoa Beach, in a thunderstorm we were following the whole time)!
There was also the sweetest moment during this day that left us all in tears. We had quite a bit of time before the ceremony and while it was sunny, it was quite chilly so we were jumping in and out of the church for photos. Bekah informed her dad that she will get her dress on and get her photos with her girls and then closer to the ceremony she would do her first look with him. Well, about five minutes after he was told to go with the guys, he couldn’t wait any longer and the most beautiful moment took place. There wasn’t a dry eye during the whole look. Her mom, sister, and niece looked on as Papa Harkes (as we affectionately all call him) looked at his baby girl and gave her the biggest hug.
This was the most gorgeous day we could imagine for our best friends in Grand Rapids. We love you both so much and are so happy for you! We can’t wait for many more adventures with you two! Thank you so much for asking us to be your photographers! It was truly the biggest honor we have had as photographers.
